Background
HPCI is a new company formed to buy out a number of technology titles from the Wilmington Group.
The chairman, Mike Harrington, has a vision of of building information rich web based magazine sites
which will provide a great deal of added value to his subscribers and advertisers.
The first revised site was launched in January 2010
Our Role
We have worked closely with the CIO of HPCI to implement the vision of a flexible, user accessible and rich site.
Our background in online information systems and information classification has been significant here and we've been involved with both the design of the product and the implementation of the system.
The Product
Manufacturing Chemist is an established specialist magazine aimed at the chemical and pharmaceutical markets. The web site operates alongside a print magazine and, like many such, gains its revenue through advertising.
The redeveloped site provides a rich web of inter-related information to support the reader and enahnce their ability to gain understanding and knowledge.
For example, relevant related articles, companies, news, products and events can be seen as articles and headlines are viewed.
In today's world the ability to quickly find and absorb relevant knowledge is key to productivity and profitablity.

This system has been written in PHP and MYSQL using Expression Engine and runs under Linux.
